Alan is fascinated by the results of his echo cardiogram
We came back to the hospital for the second round of chemotherapy this afternoon. This time it's a new combination we have not used before - Vincristine, Ifosfamide, and Etoposide. Doc P has written orders that Alan be allowed to walk around the HEM/ONC unit without a mask, so we've been for a few walkies already. I had quite a time wrangling Alan, his IV line and the IV stand by myself, especially since he liked to go through the door between our unit and the BMT unit. We're looking forward to our visitors this week to help with Alan's walks.
He's been in a surprisingly good mood for most of the afternoon. He was happy to see everyone during his walks and for a while, was jumping off toys in the crib. He was very calm while accessing his port and the echo cardiogram, but did not care for the hip and pelvis ultrasound or chest x-ray. Fighting over the ultrasound happened during his normal nap window, so he has been up all day. It's no surprise that he crashed pretty quickly this evening. Hopefully, he will sleep through all the tests and IV changes for the chemotherapy.
