06/12/10-0500After two days of just crying and sleeping, Alan finally started feeling better last night. He sat up and played with his toys and had some snacks, but didn't fall asleep until 2 am. He didn't feel like napping today either, though he spent most of the day quietly playing in his crib. He started smiling again and even said "Bye bye" to the nurse instead of just crying at her. Since he was feeling better and more active, Doc A took him off most of the medications and started him on Neupogen. However, he was still rather weak this morning with creatinine levels that were still too high, so we will stay in the hospital for one more night for observations and tests.

We took him for a walk around the unit in the stroller so he could get out of his room for a little while this afternoon. That perked him up and he wanted to walk on his own. After getting his vitals taken in the hallway, Alan circled around the scale, jumping off the little platform. It must have been tiring after the week he's just been through because he voluntarily went back into his room and didn't protest going back into the crib.
Right now, he's sitting in the dark playing in his crib instead of falling asleep. But as long as he's calm, we're happy.
