Home sweet home

Doc P came by bright and early with good news this morning - Alan's white counts are up again, the second blood culture was also negative and the tumor is shrinking. We had the last of the Neupogen and antibiotics by IV this morning so we weren't prescribed any more meds at home. Alan was so eager to get out of there he climbed into his stroller himself, pulled down the snack tray and waited there for 10 minutes while I finished packing our bags.

We came home where Alan guzzled down almost a full cup of chocolate milk and then fell asleep on the couch until his big brother got home from the Summer Fun program. He hadn't been drinking much over the last day (probably because of all the IV fluids he'd been getting) but he made up for it at home and boy was he hungry this afternoon. Yogurt Nibblers, goldfish, cereal, raisins, and almost half a cup of cheese crumbles! If he keeps this up he'll gain back his weight and then some in no time! Just in time for him to lose his appetite again after chemo next week. But the process continues, and every ounce he gains keeps that feeding tube at bay!
