06/13/10-0300Another dose of Neupogen, and though Alan looked and felt better today, his creatinine level continues to creep up. Doc A wants another abdominal ultrasound and a consultation with a nephrologist tomorrow, both of which will be easier if we are inpatient. His fluid balance is good, which makes a blockage unlikely. While Ifosfamide can cause problems, they usually show up after several treatments. Of course, there is always the possibility of a third as-yet unknown cause for this problem. Hopefully we can figure something out and go home tomorrow, because Alan is heartily sick of being stuck in the hospital. Even a walk this afternoon wasn't making him happy. Amazingly, he fell asleep by 7:30. If things go well, he'll sleep through the night and catch up on some desperately needed rest.

...and then he went home to continue his fight against cancer. This is the story of our angel.
