Office visit 5/28

After a crazy evening, Alan had a pretty good night's sleep. He had to have a fresh diaper and a shot of Zofran in his IV tube at 6 am and didn't fall back asleep. Oh well. We went back to the clinic for blood counts and stayed a couple more hours for IV fluids. His counts are good, but they gave him a shot of Neupogen to keep it that way. They sent us home with three more shots of Neupogen for the weekend because we don't need to go back until Monday!

As you can see, he does not have the feeding tube in. He had half a cup of Pediasure last night, and almost 2/3 of a cup today. He still wasn't interested in any solid food, but that's not unusual considering he just had a course of VAC. Hopefully, his appetite will pick up over the weekend.

Alan had such a long day yesterday, and such a busy morning. While standing up at the bathtub, he transferred his weight to the right leg. It was just for a moment, but we were happy to see him trying to bear his weight on that leg for the first time in weeks. At the clinic, he was romping around the Mushroom Room, and kept crawling to the edge of the bed so he could peek out to see who was in the hallway. Thank goodness he fell asleep in the car on the way home and is still napping - he needs his sleep!
