05/27 09:47It was Daddy's turn to take Alan for chemotherapy today, since Mommy was hosting Kevin's birthday party. They joined Alan and Daddy for a late lunch after the party, only to find an almost naked Alan romping around the Mushroom Room. Did we mention that Alan vomited up his feeding tube this morning?

Well, this afternoon, the tube to his port was leaking, causing a hemispheric swelling over the port. At first we thought that the needle had been dislodged, so they removed it and waited for the swelling to go down before re-accessing. Even though the new needle had great blood return, after a time we saw more swelling and leaking. Alan was NOT happy.
Doc A and the nurses are worried that there may be a problem with the port, that one of the chambers may be blocked, so we were back at the hospital in Radiology. They will inject a contrast into the port and see how it flows or blocks using a fluoroscope. If the port is blocked, we will be back in the hospital for surgery to replace the port.
