Pre-op MRI

Another cranky morning as Alan was NPO for his pre-op MRI. We had to go to Infusion Therapy to access his port for the first time. From now on we can go to the Pediatric Clinic. While we were waiting for the MRI Alan watched "Happy Feet". He loved the dancing penguins, and it was funny to see his gas mask for anesthesia had a penguin on it.

The MRI took an hour and we were soon sitting with him in recovery. We ended up taking a family nap, then it was up for some juice and to get dressed. Doc L will call us with the results tomorrow. There was just a quick stop at the Image Library to order a copy of this week's scans to take back to the docs in San Antonio.

Back at the Ronald McDonald House, Alan had a great time on the playground, then sat reading with Mommy for a while. He enjoyed a mariachi band that had come to play for us during dinner and danced to their music. We finished watching Happy Feet to which he enthusiastically danced some more. It's a bittersweet thing to watch but he's been having so much fun.

We will head home in the morning to spend the weekend with big brother Kevin and Grandma. We return to Houston on Tuesday for Alan to be admitted to the hospital on Wednesday morning for surgery prep.
