Rest in Peace Auntie Janna

You may remember the lemonade stand that our playgroup put on for Alan back in May - Jaz and Em got the idea from their cousin Dougal, whose beloved Auntie Janna was fighting Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. Their mommy was a Relay For Life team mate, walking in Janna's honour. I'm sorry to share that Auntie Janna, our inspiration, passed away last week and the memorial celebrating her life takes place tomorrow. Please extend your prayers to her family, to give them strength during this difficult time.

Ever since we got Alan's diagnosis, we have become so much more aware of how often cancer touches our life and the lives of loved ones around us. We're sad to lose a fellow traveller.

As for Alan, he has enjoyed being home. He slept in late and had a nice long nap - catching up on all that interrupted sleep in the hospital. He had fun in the family room creating toy carnage, and keeping up with his big brother Kevin. The two boys had a great time in the bouquet of balloons sent by Baby Liam and Alan was enjoying his freedom to move and be active. He stood, free of support, several times and for the first time since the tumor knocked him down, he tried to take a step a few times.
