07/17 1830Alan's red and white counts are low, and he's been irritable and unhappy the last few days. We've also seen him shaking - almost like chills without the fever. The doc wasn't happy with what he saw so we're back in the hospital for a blood transfusion, antibiotics and more tests.

X-rays showed his chest is clear but there is considerable gas in his system. That makes sense, since he's been happier after each toot. We've had a bit of a fever tonight too, but it responded to the Tylenol. The doc came by after the blood transfusion, and was much happier with how Alan looked. We'll see how he is in the morning. Now if he would just fall asleep!
