Radiation Treatment #6

Alan was up late last night. He wasn't in pain, he just wanted to stay up to play Fruit Ninja and watch Kung Fu Panda 2. Of course that meant he was very sleepy when Transportation came. We had Doc R again as our anesthesiologist this morning. He had talked about Alan's x-rays with Doc HJ and they were very happy with how his abdomen looks.

Warning: Poopy talk ahead

Doc HJ's resident came to check on him today and we were talking about the output of his rectal tube. Since he has been straining a lot and making "poop face" we were a little concerned if he could dislodge it. Short answer, no, we don't need to worry about him "losing" it. But we did note that this was most output in the tube right now since it was first put in.

Since he seemed to be struggling with the bowel movements, the doctors prescribed Senokot, an oral laxative, to get things going. The nurses also replaced the outer portion of the tubing and collection bag so we can better assess any "movement".

Something's happening down there!
