G-Tube

Alan went down to Interventional Radiology to have the G-tube put in today. The docs said it was for venting gas from Alan's stomach, to keep his belly from getting distended, not for feeding. It is hooked up for intermittent suction. When we give him oral medication we must clamp it off, otherwise it just gets sucked out.

While he was out we had them change his nephrostomy dressings. It was a quiet recovery in the PACU and then it was back to his room in short order. His hemoglobin was low today so he will be getting blood tonight.
