Looking up

Alan slept well. When Doc H2 came in with the team he said that Alan is a little fluid positive and anemic so he will be getting blood then Lasiks.

He was pleased to hear about yesterday's BM. That plus the fact we didn't need a lot of painkiller yesterday means we are going in the right direction, despite the swelling. They will lower the basal rate of the morphine in the PCA.

The fact that he is eating now will hopefully mean his protein levels will go back up naturally since the TPN can only do so much. However, the platelets count is still low (it takes approximately seven days to recover from the oral chemo) so we are still waiting on proceeding with the Ifosfamide.

We worked with Denise the PT today, sitting up and kicking his legs. The activity helped, with the swelling in Alan's legs noticeably less after the exercise.
