Spica Cast Week Three

It's the end of week three in the cast and we actually made it through a weekend without needing to visit the ER! Alan is wiggling around a lot more - earlier this week, he had figured out how to rotate on his stool and roll off it, and how to roll onto his right side. In the last couple days, he's figured out to lower himself off the stool by bracing himself between the sofa and the ottoman we use to hold his toys and snacks, and just tonight, he managed to add another quarter turn to his roll to put himself face down. He is going to keep us on our toes!

We said good bye to Auntie Joys this week as she headed home to Vancouver, but Auntie 'Chelle came to help out for a few days before Harold gets home. Before Auntie Joys left, we went to the mall on the weekend and the Witte Museum. We also had a few days of sunny, dry weather so we took Alan on some walks even if it was a little chilly.

We discovered this week that Alan likes musicals, especially those with dancing. While Meryl Streep drives a jeep up a mountain road in Mama Mia!, Alan went "Wheeee!" and he just loves when the little sister does the cobra dance in Bride and Prejudice. He kept saying "Again!" and made me rewind that scene over and over again. Maybe we'll try some Singing in the Rain next. I'd love to see how he likes Danny Kaye in "Make'Em Laugh".

We're done with the antibiotics, so we're just giving him stool softener as needed. It's nice to be off the scheduled medications. We've used the Cast Cooler a few times now. The cooling effect is so nice that Alan doesn't care about the noisy vacuum cleaner. Anyone have a super quiet vacuum cleaner we could borrow for the next month or so?

So much fun!
