Spica Cast Week Four

Alan has settled into life in the cast. We're still getting some tantrums when we can't read his mind about what he means when he says "cookie", but we're actually getting some progress in his vocabulary as he's asking for what he wants. The tv show Super Why has enjoyed a spike in popularity, with Alan asking for "Why" and "Appa Pig" (AKA Alpha Pig). The Penguins of Madagascar has also been popular, with Alan asking to see his favourite penguin Rico over and over and over again.

We've been taking him out a lot. Because of the cast and wheelchair, it's hard for us to visit friends and most playgrounds aren't much fun. So we go out for lunch and shopping so at least he gets a change of scenery.

We are continuing to take him out for walks in the neighbourhood in the wagon. Kevin isn't riding with him anymore since the cast takes up so much room, so he decided he was a big boy and has started pulling the wagon instead!
