It's been one month since Alan's surgery. We were in the ICU for so long, and then spent the two weekends since being discharged visiting the ER. It feels like so long ago. Alan is doing very well now though. He doesn't seem to need the painkiller anymore and his appetite is improving.
We are slowly figuring out how to manage Alan in his cast. We've created a room downstairs in the library where one of us can sleep with him and arranged a few different seating options. Getting a table at the right height that can get close enough to him without the cast getting in the way is a bit more of a challenge.
We're happy because for the first time in a month, the whole family is sleeping under one roof. We are also grateful for everyone's continuing help, prayers and good wishes. We can't repeat often enough how every little gesture has meant so much to us.
