Office Visit 3/16

We are back from our vacation in Dallas today for Alan's checkup with Doc P. The blood return was a little easier today, but Alan still had to do a few 'Hurrays!'.

Alan's counts were looking really good, so Doc P was happy let us go until his next chemo treatment. That means we have the next week off! Because his pain management has been good, we have been evaluating how to ease back from the Gabapenten. However, Doc P said to ease back from the Fentanyl instead because it is a narcotic. So first, per the doctor's plan, we will switch to the Hydrocodone after the current patch runs out. Then 3 Hydrocodone doses for one day, 2 Hydrocodone doses for 2 days, then as needed. Meanwhile, he'll still get his 3 Gabapenten doses per day.

Hopefully, if easing back on the painkillers is successful it will mean that the chemo is effective and the tumor is shrinking and putting less pressure on his nerves.

  1. I'm so glad to hear Alan's pain control has been good! Hoping this means the chemo is killing cancer!
