A second day of Doxorubicin today and then a blood transfusion. Alan's red counts were already looking low when Doc P checked them on Monday, so Doc A gave us a choice - a transfusion today, or wait for it to get lower and do it later. Since we were already inpatient, we decided to take care of it now, rather than go to the clinic later.
The vest ordered for Alan to cover his port and secure his line arrived yesterday morning and has been working well. It isn't that much less bulky than the ace bandage, but it is much easier to to get on and off and easier for the nurses to check his port. Alan's had a lot of freedom to move around and it's made his hospital stay a lot easier to deal with.
It was pretty late in the evening by the time we were done and on our way home, but it was worth it to give him a quiet, uninterrupted night of sleep.
