We got a call from Doc T's office today - Alan's surgery date has been set. We will meet with Doc T on May 29 for the pre-surgery consultation and then go to anesthesia assessment that afternoon. The surgery will be the morning of May 30, checking in at 7 am and surgery at 8 am. Cryoablation is a minimally invasive procedure, so Alan should be discharged after an overnight stay. We were a little dubious but Doc L's PA Kristi confirmed it. She will also get working on scheduling the radiation treatment so we can start planning Kevin's therapies and activities this summer.
The timing of the surgery isn't the greatest since Alan and Mommy will be missing Kevin's birthday and the last week of school. But we should be able to return home in time for Kevin's birthday party on Saturday and we are grateful that Alan can get this treatment so soon. It's just nice to have a date so we can start planning!
