We had some trouble today getting a blood return. We did get just enough to be able to get counts, but we wanted to be sure his hemoglobin count was accurate, so we did another blood draw after chemo today.

Dr. P was encouraged by Alan's continued slow but steady improvement in his mood and pain management. He also clarified that nothing did show up in either the chest x-ray or abdominal ultrasound. Dr. P emphasized that we need to get that MRI to get the full story on what is happening with Alan, but still believes its nevre pinching that is the issue. If so, it will take about a week for the Gabapentin to be at the appropriate level, and could take a few months for non-surgical treatments to get rid of the pain entirely.

Otherwise, an uneventful day of chemo. Because Alan was in better spirits, and because he had been going stir crazy, seeing only the house, hospital, and clinic for the last several days, Daddy took him to the local Chick-Fil-A with an indoor playground. Alan had so much fun he didn't want to leave for a while...another sign of improvement.
