Because of the Thanksgiving holiday, we came to the hospital this afternoon for Alan's blood transfusion. We had a room in the back in the BMT section with lots of windows looking out onto the main road in front of the hospital. There was quite a wait for the blood to arrive, so Alan was free to run around the room and play for a while, then it was time to sit on the bed watching "Cars" through the three hour transfusion.
He has been eating rather well, downing an impressive number of crackers for Thanksgiving. Today he ate most of the bun from a hamburger and polished off a bag of yogurt melts. This is a wonderful trend we hope continues!
After the transfusion, the CBC showed a white count of 8900 - no more Neupogen! It was a long, long day but it was nice to get home.
