Office visit 9/24

09/24 10:30
ANC 4045
Today we met with Doc P to go over our consultation with Doc L on Wednesday. He spoke with Doc L after we saw her, and he wanted to recommend that we go to her and her team at MD Anderson for Alan's surgery. Since we had decided on this option ourselves, we were glad that he recommended it too.

We took Alan's counts of course and they looked good, so we will do a course of Vincristine and Irinotecan next week while Doc L confirms her plans and works out the schedule for Alan's surgery. While we might be lucky enough to have a much shorter hospital stay then originally expected (7-10 days as opposed to 6 weeks), we will still have a lot of time on the road between home and Houston for all the surgical follow-up appointments. Doc P felt the same way we did though - this is the second time around for Alan and we want do everything we can to make sure we take care of that tumor for good.

The nurses noted that Alan was pretty happy and cheerful today, and why not? The lollipop jar had been refilled!
