We have company

After starting off totally isolated by Alan's rare diagnosis, then meeting a couple other IF families that had found our blog over the summer, we have now found ourselves a whole (albeit tiny) community. Gavin's mom started a Facebook group and now we are in contact with SIX other IF families. We have been trading stories and photos, some very different and some very similar, but the common thread being how thankful we are to find other families that are going or have been through a fight with Infantile Fibrosarcoma. As helpful as the Pediatric Oncology and Sarcoma support groups have been, it's nice to finally have our own community. Hopefully, we are easy enough to find that any new families facing this cancer won't feel alone as we all did.

On a related note, our little friend Collin from the BMT ward is off the ventilator, yay! Hopefully he'll improve enough to be out of the PICU soon.

Our pre-op appointment with Doc R is tomorrow afternoon and we are scheduled for surgery to remove the tumor on Monday morning. It has been a wonderful break from treatments and office visits, but it will be nice to get moving on Alan's treatment!

A good view of Alan's increasingly fuzzy head. His big brother Kevin laughs "It tickles!" when giving him a good night kiss.
