One more round of chemo

We stopped by the office to get Alan's new port accessed before we went to the hospital for what we hope will be his last round of chemotherapy. We are in the hospital because it is the Irinotecan/Adriamycin combination which takes several days by IV. There was a little concern because the bandage over Alan's new port had come off and he had been scratching at the smaller bandage (which we had already replaced yesterday). We got fresh gauze and Tegaderm and we off to the PED/ONC ward again.

Because Alan had already eaten today (yay! lots and lots of Cheerios), we couldn't sedate him for the CT and echo, so we will to that first thing tomorrow morning, going NPO at midnight. So the nurses went ahead with his prehydration and chemo, and Mommy was able to feed him lots more Cheerios and even some yoghurt! He had almost a whole cup of La Creme vanilla. That's the most protein he's had since the feeding tube came out last Friday. Our boy looks so good in a yoghurt mustache!

He got a new toy for this trip to the hospital. A few months ago, Alan came across a Wiggles "cd player" at a friends which he loved! I found one like it last month and saved it as a surprise for a hospital stay. He was having a great time pushing buttons and bouncing to the music. Doc A came to see him while he was grooving to the beat. Alan stood up and walked for him and they bounced and danced together!
