Alan's chemo treatment finished last night with no complications. The only time he really experienced any nausea was when Mommy pushed the issue with some spoon-fed food, but he has been feeding himself Cheerios, baby puffs, baby cheetos, dried apple bits, fig newtons, and slices of bread. We'll keep up the Zofran until the end of the day to cover him for 24 hours after the end of chemo, and hopefully that will be all that is necessary. Doc A wants to give Alan more opportunities to eat himself - hopefully avoiding a new feeding tube.

Doc A was in first thing this morning to check on Alan before discharging him. He feels the tumor getting smaller and is pretty eager to see the next scan. He also checked under his bandages, where the incisions for the new port were made and where Alan had been scratching. The skin is dry, but we'll keep it covered for now. The last thing we need is Alan getting an infection from scratching himself when he'll be getting neutropenic this weekend (usually Day 10 after the start of chemotherapy). Before leaving the hospital, Mommy will drop by the doctors' office to pick up the G-CFS (Neupogen) shots to help boost his white cell production. After that, Alan will be quite happy to escape baby prison and go home where he can be free to walk, crawl and climb.
