While we wait for Alan's first post-op MRI, I reflect on some of the changes over the past year. The nurses in Pediatric Radiology's Prep & Hold were there when Alan was first diagnosed. In fact, some of them knew before I did since Harold brought Alan to the hospital. We've seen them regularly through the year with all our CT scans and MRIs, so when Alan came in with a full head of hair, they were happy to see him looking so healthy.
One of the nurses has since had another baby of her own and another nurse has had a fabulous new hairdo. It's funny how we've seen their lives in snapshots as we've gone through Alan's treatment. It seems we've come full circle - from a full head of hair last April to a full head of hair today. But this time his hair is thicker, he's giving kisses, humming 'The Blue Danube', and asking for bubbles. In the last few weeks he's been slowly driving us crazy climbing on anything he can reach, tossing toys left, right & center, and to top things off, he's started doing head stands. It's a good kind of crazy though!
