05/15/10 0400Doc P is happy with Alan's new uric acid levels and with the transfusion yesterday, his blood levels are good too. Just a little Zofran for the road and one more small does of Lasix for his post-transfusion blood pressure. So we're heading home, at least for now. We will be back in three weeks for the next chemotherapy treatment.

As long as his counts don't dip too sharply, Alan should be attend the last few weeks of Mom's Day Out, though the Summer Fun program is definitely out. Doc P has allowed for swim lessons in a private pool when his counts are high enough. It is sad to let go of all the fun plans we had made for Alan - to make up for being so confined last summer. Some are completely out, some are modified. We will spend the next couple weeks before he starts to become neutropenic to give him as much freedom and fun as possible. We'll be taking summer portraits tomorrow morning so we can get them done before his hair starts falling out again. We did the bald pictures last summer and we'll probably have bald Christmas photos for the second year in a row this coming winter. We want to remember him this way before things start getting rough again.
